The Golden Quran – public seminar

This Thursday, Dr Zain Ali from Theology and Religious Studies at Auckland will present a seminar at Auckland Central Library on Arabic and Islamic manuscripts held by the Sir George Grey Special Collections. Special attention will be given to the ‘golden Quran’ – a  manuscript that contains pages illuminated in gold and also to some Arabic poems dedicated to Muhammad.

The golden Quran and associated manuscripts will be displayed in the Special Collections reading room on Level 2 of Central City Library for two weeks after the seminar. Zain has told us that it is absolutely stunning so definitely worth a look.

The seminar will take place at the Central Library, Whāre Wānanga Level 2 on Thursday 28 May, 6-7.30pm. More details can be found at the Auckland Library website here.
